In this issue, you'll find a preview of the 2011 SF Bay ADDYs, for the first time ever being co-hosted by four – count ’em four – AAF affiliate clubs (your Greater San Francisco Ad Club, AAF/Silicon Valley, sfBIG, and AD2SF), along with an invitation to next week’s Holiday Happy Hour, a recap of October’s panel discussion “Metrics vs. Creativity,” and a shout out to the Club’s newest members.

2011 SF BAY ADDYs: BIGGER will be BETTER!

After over 20 of successfully producing the San Francisco ADDYs, your Greater San Francisco Ad Club is proud to announce a major collaboration in 2011when it will co-host the upcoming SF Bay ADDYs in collaboration with AAF–Silicon Valley, sfBIG (the newest AAF affiliate club), and AD2SF.

The 2011 SF Bay ADDY Awards Presentation & Gala will be Saturday, February 26 at the Bently Reserve, San Francisco. This promises to be a huge success and one you won’t want to miss! Deadline for submissions is December 29, so enter here, or visit sfaddys.com for more information.

HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR NEXT THURSDAY – Join us for cocktails & conversation next Thursday, December 16 from 6-8 pm at the W Hotel. The W Hotel is located at 181 3rd Street in San Francisco. Appetizers will be provided; no-host bar.

Conveniently, the Club’s December board meeting is being held there beforehand, from 4-6 pm. Board meetings are open to any member in good standing – come see how the sausage is made! – but please register in advance.

“METRICS vs CREATIVITY” GOES 10 ROUNDS – ATTENDEES WIN IN TKO!

Nearly eighty people from the ad community attended “Metrics vs Creativity,” which pitted Research against Creative on October 26 at the offices of Public Modem in San Francisco. “Is research killing creativity?” was one of many questions, some posed by moderator Greg Stern, CEO of Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, others from the audience, and all parried by four panelists, each from their own unique perspective [more].
